Here is a pretty cool item. It is a knurled thumbscrew that will replace the factory slotted screw that retains the lever in your post WWII Marlin Lever Action Centerfire Rifles. An important feature is the coin slot for tightening. Without the slot, the screw may work itself loose. It is made by AC’s Weapon Enhancements and is very nice quality. They are available in matte blue for $26.25, including First Class postage within the US. Unfortunately, these cannot be shipped outside of the United States. The billing and shipping addresses must be within the United States.
Please note: I have just purchased the last 20 of these screws from the manufacturer, there are no more. They cost me an additional $2 apiece, so the price has increased by $2. If you want one, get it now.
Before considering the purchase of this item, please read the first post at the following link…
In addition to the aforementioned post, please be aware of the following. When you tighten the Marlin lever pivot screws they are not designed to seat under the head like most screws. They seat at the shoulder behind the thread. If your new screw does not fit, it is probably due to the factory screw being tightened too much and deforming the entrance to the threads. The other possibility , of course, is that it is a Remington gun. To check it, simply insert the screw from the opposite side. I have not had any screws that did not fit properly, and every screw is checked prior to being shipped.
